Have your customers given consent?

You may have heard about a change in the law of marketing consent called GDPR, which is coming into force in the UK.

I'm sure most of you have had enough of receiving emails asking you to opt into mailing lists and are sick to the back teeth of hearing about it. However, if you haven't heard about it and you have a newsletter or send people emails, you have to get on board with this fast. The deadline is 25th May 2018 and we all know how fast time flies.

It used to be that you only had to opt out or unsubscribe from emails but the law now says that to keep receiving emails and newsletters, from us included, you have to give consent.

After 25th May, if you haven't gained explicit permission, you have to remove people from your email lists. Even if it goes into their spam folder, they missed the email, were sick of hearing about GDPR or have moved to the forest and have no internet. There really is no getting away from it and there are serious penalties for breach of GDPR.

That means if you haven't opted to receive our emails, we'll have to sadly part ways (sob, sob) and we don't want that, so you must sign up again for our emails here.

If you don't understand the shadowy world of GDPR, here is a free two hour tutorial to help you get your head around it all but be warned, go armed with chocolate and tea as it's pretty heavy! Otherwise, get in touch with us and we can help sort it for you..
